Thank you for your interest in Confessional Communities! CBK members are able to be connected with other members in a CBK Confessional community.  CBK develops and supports group facilitators.  CBK groups to meet either virtually or in person.

Please read the following descriptions of what it means to participate in one of these groups:

 

  • Group Structure:

    a. Groups are either self-forming or CBK schedules and connects group members. Groups are free to explore different meeting styles and meeting structures. All groups have a CBK facilitator connected to the CBK membership association.

  • Group Meetings: Groups meet weekly for six months for 90 minutes each session. This is approximately 24 sessions. Groups can continue after the close of the cohort if they wish to do so. Most groups meet over Zoom and include people from all over the United States and other countries. Zoom groups are scheduled around specific meeting times that are offered. Participants select a time that works for his or her schedule a few weeks before the cohort begins.​

  • Facilitator Qualifications:

    a. Facilitators are CBK Members.
    b. Facilitators are required to have read and be familiar with the three core “Being Known” books and the CBK Community group guidelines document. 
    c. Facilitators must attend an orientation that will review the basics of running a group.
    d. Facilitators are invited to participate in a community with other facilitators where we can provide support, listen to experiences, and share the group’s successes, struggles and opportunities

  • Facilitator Candidate Survey: Email contactus@thecbk.org if you are interested in completing a Facilitator Candidate Survey. Potential facilitators are interviewed and vetted by our Facilitator Support Team.

  • Confessional Communities vs. Therapeutic Settings:

    a. Participation in CBK groups is focused on peer-to-peer support/encouragement in the individual work and application of Being Known in life and vocation.
    b.Individuals who seek or need a professional mental health therapeutic environment will be referred to appropriate mental health settings.

  • In person or online:

CBK will provide online meetings so that groups can communicate, organize, and meet both in person (where possible) and virtually.
